Basic Home Winemaking Guide

July 10th, 2008

At Dom itp we not only sell the products, but we provide you with guides on how to use them to achieve their main purpose. Today, I wanted to give you a basic guide to home winemaking.  In order to make your own wine, you will need the right equipment and the directions on how to make the wine. The basic equipment consists of a glass wine carboy (butle do wina), a cork, and a glass tube. All of which are are available at our retail stores as well as our online store. As for the ingredients, make sure you have grapes, sugar, and yeast.

Step 1

This step involves desteming the grapes in order to have a clean fruit that’s ready for the next step.

Step 2

At this point, you are ready to crush the grapes, and the best way to achieve this is through the use of juice extractor. This will leave you with the skins, seeds, the pulp of the grape and the juice completely separated.

Step 3

Now you are ready mix the extracted grape juice with sugar and yeast, and set the carboy with the ingredients for about 6 weeks for the fermintation process do the job.

We invite you to share your knowledge of winemaking with us. Let us know your techniques of making wine and we’ll post them on the blog.

At Dom itp you can find many unusual and unique handmade glass pieces, which have been created by some of the most famous and renowned artists in the world. The Borowski Glass Studio Line is imported by Dom itp from the Borowski Glass Studio and it has been designed and made by the artist himself, Stanislaw Borowski. His glass designs have been exhibited internationally throughout the world for over 27 years in various art galleries and art studios, and are often cited for their fresh, full of creativity, and avant-garde. Mr. Borowski’s work is very much contemporary and all of his pieces are known for bold colors and one of a kind shapes, and they’re immensely popular with collectors of glass decor.

The chameleon glass and metal piece is approximately 48″ in length and 30″ in height.

The bird statue measures just over 4′ and it is made of fused glass and metal. And, the smaller glass bird is approximately 30″.

The frog piece allows a light or a candle to be placed inside to make it an outdoor lantern and it measures around 24″.

By the mid 1990’s Stanislaw Borowski was joined by his sons Wiktor and Pawel, who continue to work with their father in the Borowski Glass Studio.

Each of the pieces presented are limited in terms of quantity. If you are interested, please email Dom itp at info at domitp dot com .
